Welcome to MovieColab VR Review ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a safe and transparent experience while using our Virtual Reality application on Meta Quest devices.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using MovieColab VR Review, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect specific types of data to enable the collaborative VR experience. We do not collect "vague" data; all collection is purposeful.

A. Information Provided by Meta (Platform Data)

When you log in to our app using your Meta account, we may receive:

• User ID: A unique numeric identifier provided by Meta to identify your account.

• Username / Display Name: Your public Meta Horizon profile name.

• Avatar Information: Visual data required to render your Meta Avatar in the collaborative space.

B. Device and Sensor Data (Real-time Processing)

To function as a VR application, we process the following data streams. Note: Most of this data is processed locally on your device or transiently for multiplayer synchronization.

• Headset and Controller Tracking: Data regarding the position and rotation of your headset and controllers.

• Hand Tracking Data: If you enable hand tracking, we process the position of your hand joints to render them in the app.

• Microphone Audio: Audio data from your microphone used for voice chat and transcription services (see Section 4 for details).

C. Usage and App Data

• Project and Video Data: We store and process the video files and metadata associated with your Movie Colab projects. These videos are uploaded from our backend into the VR application to enable synchronized playback in the theatre environment.

• Annotations and Drawings: 3D drawings or notes you make in the virtual space.

• Crash Logs: Technical data sent if the app closes unexpectedly (requires optional user consent on the device).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information strictly for the following purposes:

• Multiplayer Synchronization: Your Headset, Controller, and Hand Tracking data is transmitted to other users in your specific "Review Room" to animate your avatar in real-time. This allows other users to see where you are looking and pointing.

• Voice Communication & Transcription: Your microphone audio is transmitted to other users to enable voice chat. Additionally, audio is processed to provide transcription services for your review sessions.

• Content Delivery: To retrieve video files from your account projects on our backend and stream them into the virtual theatre for review.

• Account Management: Your User ID is used to save your preferences (e.g., pen color, avatar settings) between sessions.

We do NOT:

• Sell your personal data to third parties.

• Use your camera/sensor data for advertising purposes.

4. Microphone and Camera/Sensor Usage

Microphone

• Usage: Our app requires microphone access to allow you to speak with other users during movie reviews and to generate text transcriptions of the session.

• Indicator: A visual indicator (e.g., a microphone icon or "On Air" light) is visible in the in-app menu when your microphone is active.

• Recording and Transcription: We record audio for the purpose of generating transcriptions. This allows us to convert your spoken feedback into text for your collaborative projects.

Camera and Sensors

• Passthrough/Spatial Data: If you use Mixed Reality features (Passthrough), the app uses the device's camera feeds to display your surroundings. This video feed is processed locally on the Quest headset.

• Privacy: We do not have access to, nor do we store, raw video or images of your physical room.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We may use third-party server providers (e.g., Photon, AWS) to host the multiplayer rooms and store video content. These providers act as data processors and are contractually bound to protect your data.

• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

6. Data Deletion and User Rights

You have the right to request the deletion of your user data stored by MovieColab VR Review.

How to Request Deletion

To request the deletion of your account and associated data (such as saved preferences, user history, or uploaded project videos), please contact us directly:

• Required Information: Please include your Meta Username or User ID in the body of the email so we can locate your record.

Processing Time: We will process data deletion requests within 30 days of receipt and will notify you via email once the process is complete.

7. Children's Privacy

Our application is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected such information, we will delete it immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
