The 6 PM Theater Review is a Hollywood staple. We’re bringing it to your living room.

Hi everyone,

Our team has spent years working on major Hollywood films. We saw firsthand what it takes to make a "tentpole" movie—the massive budgets, the specialized hardware, and one very specific tradition: The 6 PM Review.

On every big production, everyone gathers in a massive, expensive theater at the end of the day to review every shot. It’s a vital part of the creative process, but it’s always been gated behind physical location and deep pockets.

Six years ago, we asked a simple question: "What if a film like 'Avatar' or 'The Lion King' could be made by smaller, remote teams? What tools are they missing?"

The answer was a collaborative, high-fidelity review process that works regardless of where you are in the world.

Today, after six long years of development, we’ve hit a milestone we are incredibly proud of: Movie Colab VR.

The Dream: A Theater in the Cloud We didn't just want a "video call" in VR. We wanted a tool where:

  • Teams can join a virtual IMAX or custom-aspect-ratio theater from anywhere on Earth.

  • Every shot is pulled directly from a cloud database for instant review.

  • Annotations and discussions happen in real-time, in the same virtual space.

The "Round Trip" of Information But "watching" isn't enough. We needed the data to be actionable. We’ve integrated LLM and VLM-based AI models into the VR experience. When you have a discussion in the VR theater, the system records the call and the annotations, summarizes the tasks, and automatically pushes them back into our Project Management suite.

It’s a complete "round-trip" ecosystem. An artist’s note in VR becomes a task on a dashboard instantly.

Six Years in the Making This journey started over half a decade ago. We had to build almost everything from scratch to ensure the VR application communicated perfectly with our project management and task management tools.

Backed by Google Cloud and supported by Meta, we’ve finally reached the point where a group of talented youngsters or independent creators spread across different continents can have the same "theatrical review" power as a major studio.

We believe a great film can come from any corner of the world, provided the team has the right bridge to connect their talents.

We’ve put our hearts into this milestone. Check out Movie colab VR in the quest store below to see how we’re trying to change the game for independent creators.
